You should book in advance because local people often take their family to the island on summer vacation. Also, booking directly is more expensive rather than via the Internet..
Here are some recommendations for hotels and resorts in Koh Samed
Here is Xiaodandan’s review for Sunrise Villas hotel:  From Nadan port, you enter and turn right, walk more than 300m and you never miss it. This hotel closes to the sea, one house has two rooms with balconies overlooking the sea but the room is quite small.
The advantage of this hotel is nice and cool view and the disadvantage is no breakfast and the beach in front of the hotel is rocky so that it’s not safe to swim. But if you go out, turn right and go for a few hundred meters, you will see a bridge and you can fish or swim here.  If you keep going, there will be sand bank, or turn left and go along the main road of the island at about 1km, you will reach Saikaew beach.
Lima Bella Resort is a hotel located in the Sai Kaew and there is no private beach, but you can walk to the beach, it is not far away. This hotel is very beautiful design with a small swimming pool, and also has children's swimming pool. The staff is very enthusiastic. There is buffet for and breakfast and the seats are also very cute.
Besides, you can also choose Jep's Bungalows to stay because the price of the room is quite reasonable. It costs about 1200 baht / night; the cooling room is 1800 baht including breakfast for 3 people.
Renting the motorbike on the Koh Samed
It’s quite easy because this service appears anywhere on the Island. The price is from 100 to 300 bath for every hour or every day depending on the kind of vehicles. There is ATV and you need to deposit about 1000bath to hire it.
Some activities on the island:
